Toronto
A Brief History - The Kindred
Everything changed in 2009 - the Beckoning tugged at the minds of the most powerful vampires - Kindred and Cainite alike - in the city, drawing them away from domains long held and pulling along many of their younger childer. This left a massive power vaccuum in the city, ready to be taken advantage of by those who remained. In the midst of the chaos, a lone Lasombra by the name of Antonio Cicero reached out to the Camarilla of nearby cities, offering to bring the city under their sway for assistance in defeating his last rivals. Thus came the Tremere to the city and after them came the other clans of the Camarilla. It took only a few short years to purge the remaining Sabbat from the city (or, some say, to simply drive them underground or into hiding in the other sects) and by 2014 the city was firmly under the control of the Camarilla. While the exact details of the agreement to allow him to claim praxis are unknown, Cicero's reign has been good for the city - both for Kindred and kine. Thanks to their initial entry in the city, the Tremere hold a premiere place in the city's hierarchy, allowing them to quickly setup one of the continent's largest chantries.
The only visible true threat to the Camarilla grasp on the city, though, lies with the Anarchs. Where once they were barely tolerated while the Sabbat ruled the city, the rise of the Camarilla saw the Unbound prosper as well. Parts of the final purge of the Sabbat came only with Anarch assistance and, for their service, Cicero declared that the domain of Scarborough would be seceded to the baron. Unfortunately (or, more likely, purposefully), Cicero failed to name who he saw as baron, causing fractures among the Anarchs - the most influential of which claim the entire domain and vie for proper control of it, all with the intention of one day taking all of Toronto itself.
Even with the seeming stability of the city, though, trouble brews. Various Autarkis coeteries still exist and claim their own domains in the various suburbs, beyond the ability of the Camarilla to truly enforce their control. And even within the turf truly controlled by Cicero's loyalists, power games are played for control of individual domains - and even for the seat of the prince.
